The Everyday English course was written simply because I found that most existing published material didn't actually solve the problems I was facing as the organiser of a large scale summer school operation, and was usually beyond my budget anyway.

Commenting on the Everyday English course in 2005, the British Council inspection report said: '... the materials themselves are outstanding, both in terms of content and presentation.'

The key features of Everyday English are:

* it's easy for teachers (particularly inexperienced ones) to use, and doesn't

require a great deal of preparation.

* it's versatile: the books can be used with a range of abilities and age groups,

   and combined with other material.

* its content is appropriate for summer courses: the emphasis is on task-based

   learning, speaking, vocabulary and pronunciation.

* it covers topics from the Trinity College London exam syllabus.

* it's affordable: full colour covers but black and white inner pages. One

Teacher's Guide covers all four levels.

* it provides a structured framework for lessons (see below).

If you would like to reduce your spending on course books and photocopying while still delivering a quality course, please click on the book covers below to see some sample pages. Please note that a 'History of English' timeline runs along the bottom of the pages, which may look odd when seen out of sequence.

To keep costs down these books are only available direct from Silver Hammer Publications. The Everyday English student’s book currently costs £4.50, but discounts are negotiable on orders over 1,000 units. Your company logo can also be added to the cover on orders of over 3,000 units. Please email or call me if you wish to discuss any aspect of Everyday English.
